Jacksonville Man Killed in Tuscaloosa County Crash

JACKSONVILLE– A Jacksonville man was killed Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Tuscaloosa County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Jonathan D. Goodner, 47, died at the scene after the 2023 Ford Edge he was driving left the roadway. Senior Trooper Gregory Corble, a spokesperson for ALEA, said the SUV struck a road sign, entered a ditch, and then hit a tree.

The crash happened at approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 4. It occurred on Alabama Highway 216 near the 20-mile marker, about five miles west of Brookwood in Tuscaloosa County.

Corble said Goodner was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
