The driver of a Ford F150 Pickup narrowly escaped serious injury when a tree fell across his vehicle as he drove along county road 45 near Alexis. This happened Friday afternoon just before 4pm during a strong thunderstorm that prompted the National Weather Service to issue a Severe Thunder Storm Warning for the area.
The roadway was completely blocked. McCord’s Crossroads Fire Department responded and requested assistance from the County Highway Department due to the size of the tree.
A utility pole was broken but was not electrical. The utility company was notified.
