Cedar Bluff Town Council Meeting

CEDAR BLUFF-During the Town Council Meeting on Monday, the Cedar Bluff Council approved updates to the Zoning Ordinance as presented by Zoning Committee Chairman, Bill Holland. He asked the Council to make changes dealing with certain definitions, electric fences with the Town Limits, Storm Water Management, Drainage, Enforcement, General Construction, Private Swimming Pools, Use of RV’s. Lake Front Recreational Zone, Commercial Campground, and Animals within the Town Limits. The Council approved the Changes. Mayor Warren asked the Council for approval to rent a mini excavator with a quick attachment feature to change out the implements so the Town employees can use it to clean and clear ditches, cut roadside growth and other jobs. The first month rental fee, which included a $725 delivery charge, is $6725. The Council approved the measure. The Council adopted a new Dog Ordinance for the Town and voted to eliminate the previous ordinance dealing with Dog Control.

In the Police Department Report, Chief Jeremy Stepps told the Council his department patrolled more than 10,000 miles, issued 158 warnings and 121 citations, made 2 felony arrests and 3 misdemeanor arrests, made 2 drug cases, served 11 warrants, issued 19 incident and offense reports, and performed 30 hours of traffic overtime.

The Fire Department Report was given by Chief Steven Kimmons indicated the department answered a total of 27 calls with 14 being medical related, 6 public service, 1 rescue, 1 hazardous situation, and 1 fire.

The next meeting of the Cedar Bluff Town Council will be July 7th at 5 pm in the Council Chambers.
