PIEDMONT-During the Piedmont City Council meeting Tuesday afternoon, Fire Chief Todd Kirkland presented the Council with the April Activity for the Department with 109 Calls responded to. Kirkland said they answered 15 fire calls, 65 medical calls, 20 public service, 5 Non-Emergency, 3 hazardous situations, and 3 rescue calls.

The Chief said he continues to search for grants his department could use to assist with providing services for the residents of Piedmont. One such grant would require a 5 percent match. Chief Kirkland told the Council the air pack system could cost upwards of three hundred thousand dollars so he continues to look for grants to help with the costs.
