Cherokee County Historical Museum to Host “Crafts & Things” Creative Workshop May 27

CENTRE — Community members looking for a creative and relaxing afternoon are invited to attend the upcoming “Crafts & Things” event at the Cherokee County Historical Museum on Wednesday, May 27, beginning at 12:00 p.m.

The hands-on workshop will feature a unique crafting project that combines barn board crafts with rock art, offering participants an opportunity to create decorative pieces inspired by rustic materials and nature. Organizers say the project serves as a reminder that “old can sometimes be better than new” while showcasing the beauty found in natural elements.

The event is designed to bring people together for creativity and fellowship, with museum staff encouraging attendees to invite friends and enjoy an afternoon of fun in a welcoming setting.

A $20 fee will cover craft supplies and refreshments for participants.

Those interested in attending or seeking additional information are encouraged to contact the Cherokee County Historical Museum at 256-927-7835.

The Cherokee County Historical Museum invites residents to gather, create, and celebrate the charm of handcrafted art while enjoying a meaningful and enjoyable community experience.
