Mr. Harry Bailey Sr.

With deep sadness and an abundance of love, we remember Harry A Bailey, Sr. who went to be with his Savior on May 10th, 2026 at the age of 79.  He was born on August 14,1946, in Bartow County, GA.

Harry resided in Centre, AL where he built a life centered around family, faith, his community and Friendship Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Harry was humble, kind and had a gentle spirit about him. He made friends everywhere he went and was loved dearly by his family, friends,  and his church family. His journey through life touched many, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love. His life was a testament of resilience and compassion, touching the hearts of all who knew him.

The funeral service will be Wednesday night, May 13, 2026, at 7pm at the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. David Jenkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 5pm until the hour of service at the funeral home.Burial will take place on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at 11:30am at Friendship Cemetery with DaylinKellett and Chad Steed speaking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruthnell Fowler Bailey and Bethel “BB” Bailey along with his siblings, Marshall Bailey, Sr., Audrey Reynolds, and MarcellGreeson.

Harry is survived by his wife of 30 years, Judy Johnson Bailey, sons, HarryA. Bailey, Jr. (Christi) and Daniel Johnson; daughters, Beth Bailey and Deanna Johnson Reed; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; brother, Milton Bailey; sister, VelHardgrove and sister-in-law, Mary Nel Bailey.

He proudly served the country he loved during the Vietnam War. After Vietnam, Harry took classes to become an electronic technician, and tv and radio repairman. He co-owned a business in Rome, Georgia, Rome Com, Inc., where he worked on electronics of all kinds until he retired.

Harry was an avid basketball and baseball player. He served his community as an active basketball and baseball coach for Centre recreation league. Harry’s love for the Lord and the game of basketball and baseball touched the lives of all of his players.
