Pedestrian Struck and Killed In Anniston

JACKSONVILLE POST – A single-vehicle crash involving a commercial vehicle that occurred at approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, has claimed the life of a pedestrian. The pedestrian, McKala S. Brasher, 29, of Anniston, who was in the roadway at the time of the crash, was fatally injured when she was struck by the 2023 Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by Drew N. McGee, 59, of Madison. Brasher was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 431 near the 234 mile marker, approximately one mile south of Anniston, in Calhoun County. No further information is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
