Albertville Lumber Company Closing, 62 Jobs Affected

ALBERTVILLE, Ala.- A lumber company in Albertville is preparing to shut down operations this spring, impacting more than sixty workers.

According to the Alabama Department of Workforce, a WARN Notice filed February 12 lists the upcoming closure of Southern Parallel Forest Products.

Company information shows the Albertville facility operates as a Southern Yellow Pine dimensional sawmill and also serves as the company’s U.S. administrative office.

The closure is scheduled to begin April 8, 2026, and is expected to affect 62 employees.

WARN notices are required when employers plan large layoffs or facility closures, giving workers advance notice and allowing state agencies time to provide employment assistance and retraining services.

No additional details about the reason for the closure have been released.
