Floyd County Traffic Stop Results in Meth, Marijuana Charges

LINDALE, Ala.- A traffic stop Sunday night ended with the arrest of a Lindale man on multiple drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records, 29-year-old Austin James Mills was pulled over after officers observed his vehicle traveling near the center line of a two-lane roadway.

During the stop, officers reported that Mills was holding a cellphone and admitted he had smoked marijuana inside the vehicle the night before.

A probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered five pre-rolled marijuana cigarillos and a crystal-like substance authorities identified as methamphetamine.

Mills was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of methamphetamine, distracted driving, and driving on the wrong side of the road.
