Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Reports Deputy Shot During Search Warrant Operation
 

Etowah County-The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is requesting prayers and support after an early-morning search warrant operation resulted in gunfire and injuries to both an officer and a suspect.

According to information released by the Sheriff’s Office, members of a county Joint Special Operations Group (JSOG) approached a residence to execute a search warrant when they announced their presence and were met with gunfire. During the exchange, a JSOG member was struck in the arm. The suspect inside the residence was also injured.

Both the officer and the suspect were transported for medical treatment. Their conditions have not yet been released.

The Sheriff’s Office asked the community to keep the injured JSOG member and all involved in their thoughts and prayers as the investigation continues.
