The Cherokee County Commission met Tuesday, October 14th due to Monday being a holiday.
A funding agreement with the Wild Land Trust was approved in order for the County to receive a payment from them. An agreement with JSU to provide forensic services, consultation and education was approved in the amount of $2500. The Commission approved a Master Contract for Public Safety Services between the Sheriff Department and Alabama Power. Finance agreements were approved with NCL Government Capital for a Gradall Excavator in the amount of $125,000, a knuckle boom grapple truck and an asphalt roller in the amount of $256,445. The purchases were approved earlier in the budgeting process and these agreements are just for the financing on those purchases. The Commission approved the participation of the Shop At Home Campaign with WEIS Radio in the amount of $1800 per month for November and December. An agreement with Southern Data Automation for IT Services was approved for 30 hours per month in the amount of $1950 per month. The Commission approved the hiring of Carrie Dodd as Revenue Commission Receptionist and Hope Bates as Revenue Commission Clerk. A position for a full-time Library Assistant was posted at a Pay Grade 3.
The next County Commission Meeting will be October 27th at 5 pm in the Commission Chambers.
