Cherokee County Commission Approves $25 Million Budget

 

Centre-During the Cherokee County Commission meeting on Monday afternoon, the Commission approved the fiscal year budget from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2026 in the amount of $25,971,328. Commission Chairman Burgess thanked County Administrator Daniel Steele and his staff for crafting the budget. This is a 3-month process.

Spring Garden School and the Spring Garden Community were recognized by the Commission during the Pledge of Allegiance. Each meeting, the Pledge is in Honor of someone or an organization. Spring Garden School Principal Brian Clowdis and Assistant Principal Kyle Garmon were in attendance for the event.

A contract with Onsolve, LLC was approved in the amount of $12,000. This is an annual subscription for the Code Red Service the EMA Office provides for the residents of the County.

The Renewal Amendment to the Procurement Contract for Services to Aging Customers with the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission was approved. This was for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Commission voted to enter an Executive Session for the purpose of discussing matters of commerce or trade. No action was expected to be taken afterward.

The next Cherokee County Commission Meeting is scheduled for October 13th at 10am in the Commission Chambers.
