Overnight Fire Heavily Damages Richardson Street Home in Gadsden 

GADSDEN – Fire crews responded early Thursday morning to a structure fire in the 300 block of Richardson Street.

The call came in at 1:08 a.m., and upon arrival, Engine 3 reported heavy smoke and flames with approximately 50% of the structure involved. Firefighters from Engine 3 and Truck 20 made an initial interior attack, while Engine 1 advanced a 5-inch supply line to support operations. Rescue 1 and Engine 6 conducted both primary and secondary searches of the residence.

Thanks to the coordinated efforts of all Engine and Rescue companies on scene, the blaze was brought under control and extinguished, followed by salvage and overhaul operations. Battalion 1 and Fire Marshal 1 also responded to the scene.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
