From the Coosa Valley News:
After the collapse of a previous purchase agreement, the City of Cave Spring is now turning its attention to a new potential buyer for the former Cave Spring Elementary School property.
City officials had been in negotiations with Bo Williamson of Cave Spring Health Retreat LLC to acquire the 13 Rome Road site and convert it into a wellness retreat. However, the contract expired after failing to reach a closing.
“The deal is dead,” City Manager Nick McLemore stated during a work session on Tuesday, May 6. “It expired before it could close, so it’s no longer active.” McLemore recommended that the City Council formally end the relationship with the original buyer.
In the wake of the failed deal, a new proposal has emerged. Southern Schoolhouse Revival LLC has officially submitted a letter of intent expressing interest in the property.
Developer Tim Crane, representing the company, shared his vision for the site at a City Council meeting back in December 2024. His plans include a mixed-use development, potentially incorporating music festivals, retail shops, and housing.
Crane mentioned he’s been in contact with organizers of gospel and bluegrass festivals, as well as developers interested in bringing both commercial and residential projects to the Cave Spring community.
The City Council is scheduled to vote on whether to begin formal negotiations with Crane’s group at its upcoming meeting on Tuesday, May 13, at 6 p.m. in City Hall.
