CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Tigers closed out baseball’s regular season with a bang on Tuesday. Caleb Edmondson, Hunter Stallings and Kolwyn Morrison combined to toss a no-hitter in an 8-2 victory over West End.
Edmondson started the game and allowed two runs with five walks and two strikeouts over two innings. Stallings and Morrison pitched in relief, with Stallings earning the win.
At the plate, Edmondson delivered a pair of triples and drove in four runs for the Tigers. Stallings also had a pair of hits and drove in a pair of runs. Dylan McDaniel and Kadien Tracy both drew a pair of walks.
Cedar Bluff (16-12) opens the Class 2A state playoffs on Friday with a doubleheader at Decatur Heritage. First pitch in game one is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Game two will begin at approximately 7 p.m. A third game, if necessary, will be Saturday at 1 p.m.
