
CENTRE — A small gas line was damaged Tuesday morning during work at the Cherokee County Library in Centre, prompting a response from emergency personnel.

According to reports, a construction crew working at the library struck the gas line, leading to a notification to Cherokee County 911. Centre Fire Department personnel responded to the scene along with crews from DeKalb-Cherokee Gas District.
Officials assessed the situation and determined there was no danger to the public. Utility crews quickly began repairs to the damaged line.

No injuries were reported, and the incident was resolved without further complications.
