JACKSONVILLE – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers concluded their annual Spring Swing Softball Tournament at Jacksonville State University on Tuesday. They fell to Ariton 3-0 and tied Ider 5-5.
In the loss to Ariton, Layla Ingram managed the only hit for the Lady Panthers. Helena Ingram drew a walk.
Ariton scored all three of its runs in the bottom of the fourth inning against Spring Garden starter Avery Steward. She allowed just one earned run on three hits with four walks and three strikeouts.
In the tie with Ider, Spring Garden scored all five of its runs in the bottom of the third inning. Layla Ingram led the Lady Panthers with a pair of hits, including a double. She also scored a run and drove in one. Helena Ingram tripled, scored a run and drove in two.
Steward, Maggie Jarrett and Olivia Law each had a hit and a run. Rylie Ham had a hit, a walk and two RBIs. Paisley Woodall also drew a walk.
Lilly McCain tossed three innings and gave up one earned run on four hits with four walks and a strikeout. Addie Word worked an inning and allowed two unearned runs on a hit.
Spring Garden hosts Cherokee County on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
