Cedar Bluff splits baseball doubleheader with DAR, Geraldine

GERALDINE – The Cedar Bluff Tigers split a pair of baseball games on Tuesday. They defeated DAR 14-4 and fell to Geraldine 13-6.

In the win over DAR, the Tigers scored nine runs in the first inning to take the early momentum.

Hunter Stallings led the Tigers at the plate by going 3-for-4 with a home run in the fifth inning and a double in the third. Caleb Edmondson also tallied three hits for Cedar Bluff. Samson Mallet went 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

Kolwyn Morrison and Bryson Teague also had multiple hits for Cedar Bluff. One of Teague’s hits was a double that drove in a run. Jacob Chambers also doubled in a run and Kuper Bradley had a two-run single. Chambers also had a sacrifice fly.

Fischer Young earned the win for Cedar Bluff. He allowed two runs on two hits with five walks and a strikeout over 2 1/3 innings.

In the loss to Geraldine, Stallings was 2-for-4 with two RBIs. He also suffered the loss after tossing four innings. He allowed seven earned runs on seven hits with six walks and five strikeouts.

Bradley tripled in a run in the second inning. Isaac Bishop had a sacrifice fly.

Cedar Bluff plays at Geraldine again on Thursday.
