Mrs. Nellie Louise Chesnut

Mrs. Nellie Louise Chesnut, 92 of Leesburg, passed away Thursday afternoon, January 23, 2025, at Cherokee County Health and Rehab.

Louise will be laid to rest beside her loving Husband, Frank Chesnut, at the Hopewell Cemetery in a private family graveside burial. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.

Survivors include her sons, Mickey Chesnut (Cheryl) and Charles Chesnut (Becky); grandson, Carey Chesnut (Stacy); and granddaughters, Ginger Bearden (Michael) and Katie Blankenship (Bruce);  great-grandsons Jacob Chesnut, Theodore Chesnut, and Jon Chesnut; great granddaughter, Carleigh Chesnut; and many nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Chesnut; parents, Claude and Nellie Hunt; and siblings, Frank Hunt, Jesse Hunt, Julius Ben Hunt, Mary Atkins, Ann Griffith, and Ray Hunt.

Louise was a long-time member of Hopewell Advent Christian Church in Leesburg, Alabama where she served as a Sunday School Teacher, Bible School Teacher, and a member of the Women on Home and Foreign Missions. Louise was a former CNA at Cherokee County Health and Rehab Center where she worked until her retirement. She loved Hopewell Community and the people in the surrounding areas. She enjoyed buying frilly dresses for little girls. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother and always cheerful and bright.

The nurses and caregivers of CCHRC at stations 1 and 2 lovingly cared for Louise during the last years of her life. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for, prayed for, and visited with Louise their greatest gratitude.
