Cedar Bluff advances with sweep of Gaylesville

SAND ROCK – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers defeated Gaylesville for the second time in five days to begin the Cherokee County Volleyball Tournament on Saturday at Sand Rock. The scores were 25-16, 25-13 and 25-18.

Paityn Walker posted 13 kills, nine digs, five aces and three assists for the Lady Tigers. Marlee Timm tallied seven digs, six kills, six assists and an ace. Vana Martin managed 20 digs, a kill and an assist.

Makayla Kimmons added 17 digs and a kill. Cece Davis delivered 10 kills, seven digs and three aces. Piper Cromer contributed three kills and two digs. Marlee Horton had two kills and a dig. Jahleigh Dodd came away with seven digs. Jakirah Brown finished with six digs and a kill.

MaKenlee Young accumulated 19 digs for Gaylesville (10-10). Lydia Reynolds delivered 16 digs, a kill, an assist and a block. Aubree Colbert contributed 15 digs, three assists, two kills. Abbie Bishop earned eight kills, four blocks and three digs.

Chloe Collins came away with 11 digs, seven assists and a kill. Bayleigh Ratliff managed eight digs, two kills and an assist. Kya Green had three kills, a block. Charlee Sentell finished with five digs.

Spring Garden sweeps Sand Rock, earns championship match berth

SAND ROCK – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers swept Sand Rock on Saturday 25-12, 25-16 and 26-24 to earn a berth in Monday’s Cherokee County Tournament final.

Aubrey Kelley collected 10 kills, four digs and two blocks for the Lady Panthers (17-11). Addie Word added nine kills, an assist and an ace. Lleyton Carroll contributed 26 assists, four digs and an ace.

Maya Jennings posted six blocks and four kills. Kylie Bates came away with four kills and three assists. Gracie Simpson earned 11 digs and a kill. Addie Smith and Lacie Jo McMurray managed nine and eight digs respectively. Hayden Parris finished with a pair of assists.

Aubie Camp delivered 23 digs for Sand Rock (9-20). Emma Sipsy posted 17 digs. Maddie Clanton came away with 21 assists.

Molly Grace Lay registered nine kills and 14 digs. Addisyn McMichen also had nine kills. Alyvia Browder contributed three kills and a pair of blocks. Macy Martin finished with four aces.

Cherokee County eliminates Cedar Bluff to secure title match berth

SAND ROCK – Top-seeded Cherokee County eliminated Cedar Bluff with a 25-15, 25-14, 25-7 victory to clinch a spot in Monday’s county championship match.

Ava Haygood collected 13 kills, nine digs, three assists and two aces for the Lady Warriors (25-11). Jolie Alexander delivered 12 kills, seven digs, four aces and an assist. Mattie Green added 25 assists, three digs, a kill and an ace.

Taniya Fife contributed seven digs, four kills and two aces. Harleigh Henry had three kills, three digs and two aces. Sydni Frost finished with nine digs and a kill.

Paityn Walker led Cedar Bluff (14-11) with seven digs, five kills, four assists and a block. Marlee Timm tallied four assists, two kills and two digs. Vana Martin posted 11 digs and had an assist. Cece Davis came away with four kills, three digs, a block and an ace.
