CENTRE – Brooklynn Bruce tossed in 14 points, including four 3-pointers, in leading the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 57-47 basketball win over visiting Sylvania on Thursday.
Deannia Starr added 12 points and Nevaeh Gaidurgis scored 11 points for the Lady Warriors (18-3). Ellisan Givens and Vivian Connell contributed seven and six points respectively.
Meredith Jackson sank five treys and led Sylvania with 17 points. Molly Weaver connected on a pair of 3-pointers and had 10 points. Stormie Little finished with six points.
The Lady Warriors held an 18-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 26-13 edge at halftime. Cherokee County built a 51-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter before the Lady Rams attempted to rally.
Cherokee County hosts Bremen, Ga., on Friday.
