GADSDEN – Kylie Vadon netted a game-high 19 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, but the Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers fell in an area basketball heartbreaker at Gaston, 48-47 in overtime on Monday.
Vadon also had five five rebounds, five assists and a pair of steals for the Lady Tigers (13-8). Janaya Higgins delivered 13 points, four boards, four steals, three assists and a block. Caley Bruce contributed four points, eight rebounds and two steals. Ciana Smith finished with four points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Bella Holland led the Lady Bulldogs with 17 points. Amauri Bowie added 14 points. Brooklyn Merriman and Shelby Waters finished with six and five points respectively.
Cedar Bluff led at the end of the first quarter 12-9 and held am 18-17 edge at halftime. Gaston gained a 32-29 at the end of the third quarter. The two teams were tied at 41 at the end of regulation. Gaston outscored the Lady Tigers 7-6 in overtime for the final.
