Lady Warriors throttle White Plains 59-18 in Thursday area basketball action

CENTRE – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors jumped out on a 12-0 run and cruised to a 59-18 victory over White Plains in area girls basketball action on Thursday.

Ellisan Givens and Nevaeh Gaidurgis led the way for the Lady Warriors (16-2) with 17 points apiece. Givens added four assists, four steals and two rebounds. Gaidurgis also contributed four rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Deannia Starr and Vivian Connell both delivered six points. Starr also managed eight rebounds, five steals, two blocks and an assist. Connell also had two steals and a rebound.

Abbie Dickeson and Brooksly Thielker led White Plains with five points apiece.

Cherokee County led 21-7 at the end of the first quarter and built a 33-10 edge at halftime. The Lady Warriors held a 52-12 advantage at the end of the third quarter.
