SAND ROCK – Ty Traffanstedt sank six 3-pointers and finished with 25 points. He also managed five rebounds, three assists and three steals in leading the Sand Rock Wildcats to a 70-54 area basketball win over Cedar Bluff on Tuesday.
Wyatt Miller added 17 points, five boards and three blocks for the Wildcats (11-8). Jonas Browder netted nine points and grabbed six rebounds. Cam Gifford contributed seven points, nine rebounds, eight assists, a steal and a block. Will Cleere finished with six points, four boards, an assist and a steal.
As a team, the Wildcats were 22-of-28 from the free-throw line.
Shon Gleen topped the Tigers with 20 points. Kolwyn Morrison added 10 points. Zach Jones, Zyrese Wynn and Isaac Bishop each finished with five points.
Sand Rock led 18-11 at the end of the first quarter and held a 31-25 edge at halftime. The Wildcats maintained a 44-40 advantage heading into the fourth quarter and then closed out the game on a 25-14 run for the final.
