Drakken Tru Graham age 20 of Collinsville, passed away Saturday, December 14th, 2024.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 19th in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel , with Chaplain Deric Thomas officiating, burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery #2. The family will receive friends from 11:00am till the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will include PFC Trace Haywood, CDT Xavier Sanford, CDT John Wade, CDT Seth Young, CDT Marc Compton, CDT Lily Clanton. Honorary pallbearers will include his close friends; Brian Giles, Bradley Jackson, Trace Haygood, Tristan Adkins, Bryan East, Dustin Goodwin, Edwin Kinsey, Matthew Grimes, Lucas McDaniel and Justin Morgan.
As a senior at Sand Rock High School, Drakken was awarded a 4 year Army ROTC Scholarship for possessing the core Army ROTC characteristics of “scholar, athlete, and leader”. Drakken was a graduate of Sand Rock High School and currently a student at Jacksonville State University as a member of the ROTC Program. CDT Graham served in various leadership positions including squad leader and platoon Sergeant. Also, on the Friday before his death he was named as our new Ranger Team Captain and would be leading our Ranger Team in competition at Fort Moore in January. During his time in the Gamecock Battalion, he has received the following awards:
1. Military Order of the World Wars Award (Top Military Science 1 Award)
2. Army ROTC Deans List Award
3. Ranger Challenge Award
4. Color Guard Award
CDT Graham was a graduate of the United States Army Airborne School.
He is survived by his mother, Jennifer Lynn Burgess; brother, Jeremiah Burgess; sister, Koko Graham; grandmother, Cathy Grogan; cousin Jarrid Grogan.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Monroe Grogan.
