BREMEN, Ga. – The Cherokee County Lady Warriors held off Bremen, Ga., in girls basketball action on Tuesday evening by the final of 40-38.
Ellisan Givens led the Lady Warriors (6-1) with 12 points, four steals, three rebounds and three assists. Libby Curry collected seven points, five steals and a pair of rebounds. Deannia Starr delivered six points, 11 boards and four blocks. Nevaeh Gaidurgis finished with five points, eight rebounds and five steals.
Savannah Langley led Bremen with 14 points, including four 3-pointers. Marley Derringer finished with 12 points.
The Lady Warriors jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the first quarter before Bremen bounced back in the second to take a 23-22 edge at halftime. Cherokee County outscored Bremen 17-8 in the third and held on in the fourth for the final.
The Lady Warriors host Oneonta on Thursday.
