Jackson Dean Joins Jamey Johnson for Sand Mountain Concert

ALBERTVILLE– Country singer Jackson Dean will join Jamey Johnson for a Sept. 25 concert at Sand Mountain Amphitheater. Alabama group The Skeeters will also perform during the Friday night show.

The concert begins at 7 p.m. as part of Johnson’s Traveling Truebadour Tour. Fans will find the amphitheater at 700 SMPA Boulevard in Albertville.

Ahead of the concert, Crystal Wells, afternoon air personality spoke with Dean by phone Wednesday. The full conversation gives listeners an opportunity to hear directly from Dean before his Sand Mountain appearance.

From Maryland to Country Radio

Dean, a Maryland native, released his debut studio album, Greenbroke, in 2022. The project introduced a national audience to his gravel-toned voice and country-rock sound.

Its breakout single, “Don’t Come Lookin’,” earned platinum certification and appeared on the television series Yellowstone. Moreover, Dean’s official biography identifies it as his first No. 1 country-radio single.

In May 2022, Dean made his Grand Ole Opry debut. He opened the appearance with an acoustic performance of “Wings.” The Academy of Country Music later nominated him for New Male Artist of the Year in 2023.

Dean followed his debut with On the Back of My Dreams in September 2024. Meanwhile, the album’s “Heavens to Betsy” became another No. 1 country-radio hit.

In April, Dean released his third studio album, Magnolia Sage. The 11-song project explores love, identity, life on the road, and the meaning of home.

Currently, Dean is promoting “Make a Liar” as his latest country-radio single. He plans to release an expanded edition, Magnolia Sage: In Full Bloom, on Oct. 9.
