ALEXANDRIA – At the Champions Thanksgiving Tournament in Alexandria on Saturday, Ace Austin accumulated 26 points, five rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block to lead the Spring Garden Lady Panthers to a 61-29 basketball win over Piedmont.
Laci Jo McMurray added 12 points on four 3-pointers for the Lady Panthers (2-0). Maggie Jarrett collected nine points, 12 rebounds, six assists, three steals and a block.
Montana Highfield had seven points, four rebounds, a steal and a block. Olivia Law finished with seven points, a rebound, an assist and a block.
Spring Garden led 13-8 at the end of the first quarter and held a 25-13 lead at halftime. An 18-6 run in the third pushed Spring Garden’s advantage out to 43-19. The Lady Panthers outscored Piedmont 18-10 in the fourth for the final.
