Firefighters Respond to Call at Career & Tech School

Firefighters and other emergency personnel were dispatched in response to an active fire alarm at the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center, just off of the Chesnut Bypass in Centre – on Friday Morning.

The call went out at approximately 9:20 and all campus buildings were immediately evacuated; fortunately no one was injured.

A small fire began in an electrical closet in the school’s meeting room, which was unoccupied at the time; the fire was extinguished moments later.

Classes resumed once an “all clear” was given and that area was deemed safe.
