On Tuesday afternoon, I had the distinct pleasure of attending the City of Centre’s Bench Dedication, held at the Centre City Park.

A gathering of  25 families honored their deceased with a Bench Dedication in Loving Memory.

Mayor Mark Mansfield thanked Bill Holland and the Master Gardeners for their outstanding work in the Centre Park.  He also thanked Council Members Bess Yarbrough and Kay Davis for their significant input with this event, along with Jay Wilson, Head of Parks and Recreation, and Bobby Paul, the Street and Sanitation Supervisor.

The Mayor then read the two page list of people that the bench was dedicated for in 2024.

It is just a wonderful way of remembrance for the families involved.

Next, Bill Holland, President of the Cherokee County Master Gardeners, spoke and told the group assembled the Master Gardeners is a complete team effort.

I was very happy I could attend this very special event.
