From the Georgia DOT: WEATHER PERMITTING
Work Crews will close: 2nd Avenue, located between Shorter Avenue and State Route 101 starting on Tuesday (July 30th) of this week. The right northbound lane on 2nd Avenue will be CLOSED from West 3rd Street to before the freight receiving entrance of Floyd Medical Center. Along with the closures, a temporary traffic signal will be installed at the intersection of State Route 101 and Turner McCall Boulevard.
That work is part of the project that will include improvements along the route and remove the closed section of roadway. The project is slated to be completed in Fall of 2026.
