Ms. Mary Jordan Walden, 90 of Centre, Alabama went to be with the Lord on July 18, 2024.

She was born in Centre in 1934 to Herman and Virginia Jordan. Mary attended Auburn University and Jacksonville State University before working as a social worker in Gadsden then running Jordan Insurance Company for many years. Mary enjoyed spending her time cheering on the Auburn Tigers, taking care of her dachshund pets, preparing her classic Southern recipes and meals, hosting family and friends and picking blueberries in her yard. As a proud northeast Alabama native, Mary gave back to her community and church. Her final years were spent at The Oaks Assisted Living in Carrollton, Georgia where she spent time with her daughter and family.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Walden, infant son William Walden Jr., parents Herman and Virginia Jordan, Siblings Martha Jo Jordan, Wendell Jordan and Jeff Thomas Jordan and sister in law Carol Jordan. She is survived by her daughter Jana Seeman and son in law Howard, granddaughters Caroline and her husband Parker Lewis and Susanna and her husband Dylan Daviscourt, along with nieces Joanne Jordan and her husband Sasha Bittner, Olivia and her husband Nathan and Virginia Ann Jordan.

The visitation service will be held at 1 pm followed by a memorial service at 2 pm on Monday, July 22 at Centre First United Methodist Church ,341 West Main Street, Centre, Alabama 35960. Pastor  Don Barnett will officiate. Burial will be at Neal Hill Cemetery on Monday at 11:00 am.

Donations can be made to Centre First United Methodist Church where she was a lifelong member.
