Summer Concerts Series at The Amp

Summer is quickly approaching, and the City of Gadsden has announced the lineup for our Summer Concert Series at The Amp — that’s not just short for amphitheatre; it also stands for Always Music Playing.

These concerts are free to the public and are held on the first Friday night of each month after First Friday activities wrap up downtown.

We look forward to having you join us for great music all summer long! Gadsden announces Summer Concert Series at The Amp, presented by Sam Boswell Honda Gadsden’s Summer Concert Series at The Amp, sponsored by Sam Boswell Honda, is set to return to Gadsden’s historic Mort Glosser Amphitheatre in June.

The concerts will take place after downtown’s First Friday festivities on the first Friday of every month from June to August. Gates open at 8 p.m. with the concert to follow from 9 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

“First Friday is always a blast in downtown Gadsden, and this is an opportunity for people to keep the party going at our historic amphitheater,” said Gadsden Mayor Craig Ford. “We’ve got a great selection of bands covering a wide variety of music, so we invite everyone to come enjoy a show this summer!”

As in years past, entry into the concert is free.

The city is pleased to announce it will be serving drinks, and coolers will no longer be allowed on the premises.

This year’s lineup is as follows:

June 7 — Fuego Show Band: Motown/Funk/Soul.
Fuego Show Band, a Mobile-based show band, features an eclectic mix of Motown, Funk, Soul, R&B, Blues, and today’s hits. Their impressive vocals bring the fire to every concert!

July 5 — Nash County: Country and Southern Rock
Nash County is a Nashville-based Country/Rock cover band. Their eight-piece band plays a variety of timeless country and rock classics.

Aug. 2 — Rubik’s Groove: ‘80s, ‘90s and ‘00s Rock
Rubik’s Groove is an energetic tribute band that is bound to get you grooving! Their extensive set of ’80s, ’90s and ’00s covers and assortment of costumes and colorful characters offer an interactive audience experience.
