Sand Rock softball blanks Collinsville 10-0

SAND ROCK – Katelyn St.Clair had quite the day for Sand Rock.

On Tuesday morning, the senior was in Montgomery being honored as a finalist for the Alabama Sports Writers Association Basketball Player of the Year banquet. She returned home to put on her softball uniform and lead the Lady Wildcats with a pair of hits, including a home run, with three runs and three RBIs in a 10-0 win over visiting Collinsville.

Emma Sipsy also had a pair of hits for Sand Rock, including a home run with four RBIs. Molly Lay doubled, scored twice and had a RBI. Maddie Clanton collected a hit, a walk and two runs. Bailey Kilgore contributed a hit and a run. Kailee Patterson posted a hit. Emma Thompson and Paitlyn Hughes both drove in a run. Aubie Camp walked.

Sipsy picked up the win in the circle. She tossed a one-hitter through four innings with a walk and five strikeouts. St.Clair also worked an inning with a walk and three strikeouts.

Gracie Griggs had the lone hit for Collinsville. Bella Wills walked twice.
