Spring Garden sweeps softball doubleheader from Faith Christian

SPRING GARDEN – The Spring Garden Lady Panthers swept a softball doubleheader from visiting Faith Christian on Tuesday. The scores were 13-3 and 20-0 in three innings.

In the 13-3 win, Helena Ingram went 3-for-4 with a double, a run and three RBIs. Rylie Ham was 3-for-3 with a double, two runs and a RBI. Avery Steward went 2-for-2 with two walks, four runs and a RBI.

Maggie Reedy was 2-for-4 with a run and two RBIs. Addie Word went 2-for-3 with two runs.

Maggie Jarrett doubled and drove in two runs. Lilly McCain managed a hit, two walks and a run. Layla Ingram also had a hit with a RBI. Olivia Law finished with a hit a run.

McCain claimed the win in the circle. She worked five innings and gave up no earned runs on five hits with two walks and four strikeouts.

In the second game, Steward went 4-for-5 with two runs and three RBIs. McCain was 3-for-3, two doubles, a walk and four runs. Layla Ingram also went 3-for-3 with a double, a walk and three runs.

Helena Ingram was 3-for-4 with a run and three RBIs. Word went 3-for-3 with a walk, three runs and two RBIs.

Paisley Woodall contributed a pair of hits, a walk, two runs and a RBI. Law was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and two RBIs.

Maggie Reedy blasted a home run with four RBIs. Jarrett also homered, walked, scored twice and had two RBIs. Hayden Parris tripled, scored a run and drove in another.

Word earned the win. She tossed three innings and allowed just two hits with a walk and two strikeouts.

Spring Garden (8-3) travels to Hokes Bluff on Thursday at 5 p.m.
