The Cherokee County Sheriff Department is looking for Joseph Hunter in connection with a shooting incident in front of a residence on county road 40 near Peeks Crossroads Community on Saturday evening. Chief Deputy Josh Summerford tells WEIS Radio News the incident occurred around 11 pm during an altercation between Hunter and another subject.
The victim was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment of what appeared to be non life threatening injuries.
Hunter is wanted for Attempted Murder. He is considered to be armed and dangerous. Anyone with any information about Joseph Hunter or his whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 or the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Department.
