Bishop, McFry’s bats, Stallings’ 12 Ks on the mound help Cedar Bluff beat Sand Rock 8-3

SAND ROCK – Isaac Bishop doubled twice, scored two runs and had two RBIs. Eli McFry also had a pair of hits, including a double, with three RBIs in leading the Cedar Bluff Tigers to an 8-3 baseball win at Sand Rock on Saturday.

Jacob Chambers collected a hit, a walk, a run and two RBIs for the Tigers. Bryson Teague tallied a hit, a run and a RBI. Samson Mallett managed a hit, a walk and a run. Hunter Stallings had a hit and a walk. Kaden Pack posted a hit and a run. Warren Wallace added a hit. Caleb Edmondson walked twice and scored a run.

Stallings picked up the win on the mound after going the distance. He gave up an earned run on five hits with no walks and 12 strikeouts.

Caleb Yoder suffered the loss for Sand Rock. He worked 2 1/3 innings and gave up five earned runs on six hits with three walks and three strikeouts. Cam Gifford tossed 4 2/3 innings of four-hit ball. He surrendered an earned run, walked two and struck out five.

Gifford also doubled and scored a run.

Kane Robison contributed a pair of hits. Caidan Bullard and Morgan Tucker both had a hit and scored a run. Tucker also had a RBI.

Sand Rock is at Pleasant Valley on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m. Cedar Bluff hosts Coosa Christian on Tuesday, also at 4:30 p.m.
