SPRING GARDEN – The Cherokee County baseball and softball tournaments are scheduled for this Thursday through Saturday at Spring Garden. Admission is $8.
Thursday’s baseball games begin at 3 p.m. with junior high action between Cedar Bluff and Spring Garden, followed by Sand Rock and Gaylesville junior high at 5 p.m. Cedar Bluff and Gaylesville varsity teams take the field at 7 p.m.
The Sand Rock-Gaylesville junior high winner battles Cherokee County on Friday at 3 p.m., followed by varsity action between Cherokee County and Sand Rock at 5 p.m. Thursday’s Cedar Bluff-Gaylesville varsity winner takes on four-time defending county champion Spring Garden on Friday at 7 p.m.
The junior high baseball championship is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m., followed by the varsity baseball championship at 3 p.m.
The Cherokee County softball tournament also begins on Thursday with three games. Spring Garden takes on Gaylesville 4 p.m., followed by Sand Rock and Cedar Bluff at 5:30 p.m. The Spring Garden-Gaylesville winner battles defending county champion Cherokee County at 7 p.m.
Losers bracket games are Friday at 4 and 7 p.m. with the winners bracket game in between at 5:30 p.m.
Saturday’s action begins at 9 a.m., with the championship game scheduled for 10:30 a.m. An if-necessary game is slated for Saturday at noon.
