According to a report by the Rome News-Tribune a single-wide trailer on the Old Rockmart Road – near Preacher Smith Road in Silver Creek – was destroyed by fire on Wednesday.   Rome Floyd Fire Department firefighters received reports of the blaze at 7:33am – when first responders arrived at the scene, they found that the trailer was fully involved.  The blaze was brought under control quickly after firefighters arrived.

There were two adults inside the home, and both were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.  One of those two, was also transported to a local hospital for burns.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
