Severe Thunderstorms and Flooding Possible-Be Weather Aware through Monday

According to the National Weather Service, a front draped across the region is expected to lead to several batches of showers and storms through Monday. If unstable air is able to make it northward to central Alabama, a risk for severe storms will materialize. Minor flooding could occur in areas that receive repeated rounds of heavy rain.

A Change from the previous forecast is the Added a risk for severe storms.

 Severe: Where: Nearly all of central Alabama

When: Sunday night through Monday morning

Threats: Tornadoes and damaging winds up to 60 mph

 Flooding:  Mainly near and north of Interstate 20

Tonight and again Sunday night into Monday

Threats: Localized flooding of poor-drainage areas and small waterways
