VALLEY HEAD – Gavin Lang sank three 3-pointers and finished with 17 points and six rebounds to lead the Collinsville Panthers past Gaylesville 68-49 in the Valley Head Christmas Tournament on Tuesday.
Mason McAteer managed 16 points, including a pair of 3-pointers for the Panthers. Eli Griggs posted 10 points and 11 rebounds. Dawson Cothran contributed eight points and six boards. Zach Clanton came away with seven points and seven rebounds. Jake Middlebrooks finished with six points and 15 boards.
Kyler Bradley scored a game-high 32 points for the Trojans, including three 3-pointers. Daylen Dobbins delivered 12 points, all on 3-pointers.
Collinsville held a 16-14 edge after a quarter and built a 30-19 advantage at halftime. The Panthers led 50-32 after three quarters.
In girls action, Collinsville fell to Asbury 55-27. The Lady Rams sank nine 3-pointers, led by Shayla Pacheco’s 15 points and three treys.
Vanessa Cruz netted nine points. Yessel Aragon added eight points, including a pair of treys.
Savannah Hillis and Daisy Zurita finished with six and five points respectively.
Carlee Davis led the Lady Panthers with eight points. Bella Wills and Karly Middlebrooks both finished with six points.
Asbury jumped out to a 15-1 first-quarter lead and held a 23-11 advantage at halftime. Asbury extended its lead to 37-21 after three quarters.
