Civil War Re-Enactment of to Be Held THIS WEEKEND in Cedar Bluff

There’s a VERY SPECIAL event coming up this weekend, HERE in Cherokee County!

It’s a grand, exciting, powerful and accurate re-enactment of the Streight’s Raid battle held right here, where the event actually took place during the Civil War – in Cedar Bluff. During her recent visit to the WEIS Radio Studios, Teresa Crosby gave what can only be described as a very VIVID description – of just what people are going to experience during that event:

That incredible battle will be re-enacted – on both Saturday and Sunday, October 14th and 15th. Visitors will be able to witness the historical event leading up to the surrender of the Union Colonel, Abel Streight to Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest. This was no doubt one of the most astonishing battles in the entire Civil War, as the Southern soldiers defeated a group far larger than themselves, pulling off an amazing, yet unlikely, victory through sheer strong willed deception – or you may simply want to call it trickery.

That re-enactment is presented by the official Cherokee Battle Preservation Corporation, and their immense dedication to the history of the Civil War helps to bring everything to life in all of their presentations.

Make plans now to attend, and relive, this historic event.
