It was a rather brief meeting this week for the Cherokee County Commission this week
Chairman Tim Burgess announced that a Public Hearing for the acceptance of the petition to vacate a portion of County Road 60 will be held September 25th at 5:00pm. And, in other business:
Commissioners voted to approve a Renewal Amendment, to the Procurement Contract for Services to Aging Customers with the East Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission, for the period of October 1st, 2023 – September 30th, 2024.
The appointment to the Seats #4 and #5 of the Cherokee County Department of Human Resources Board – was moved and it was tabled until the next Board Meeting. Corey Chambers of the Cherokee County Highway Department – announced bids for October 1st, 2023 – September 30th, 2024.
And it was also announced, that on March 8th this year (2023) – that the Cherokee County Courthouse, had been officially added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks & Heritage sponsored by the Alabama Historical Commission.
The next meeting of the Cherokee County Commission is set for Monday, September 25th at 5:00 that afternoon in the Cherokee County Administration Building.
