Strong To Severe Weather Possible Monday

A few storms may become severe during the afternoon and evening hours through tomorrow/Monday.

(2) Tropical Depression Ten has strengthened and is now Tropical Storm Idalia. The system is forecast to become a hurricane on its approach to Florida’s Big Bend region. Recent updates from the National Hurricane Center have nudged the forecast track slightly eastward. This is good news for our area as it favors significant impacts bypassing us to the southeast. Even so, the general proximity of Idalia may result in increased rain chances for the southeast portions of central Alabama around midweek. Stay tuned for forecast updates.

  • An increase in rain chances may occur around midweek for the southeast portions of central Alabama.
