Cedar Bluff softball blasts Faith Christian

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers scored 18 first-inning runs and defeated Faith Christian 19-1 in three innings in softball action on Tuesday.

Natalie Baty went 3-for-3 with a home run, three runs and two RBIs for the Lady Tigers (8-12). Reece Patterson was also 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, two runs and three RBIs.

Za’Niya Kyle collected a pair of hits, including a home run, with two runs and two RBIs. Mattie Payne also had a pair of hits, including a home run and a double, with three runs and a RBI. Haley Allen added two hits, two runs and two RBIs.

Harlie Nelson tripled, scored two runs and had a RBI. Rylie Walker had a hit, three runs and a RBI. Kylie Vadon contributed a walk, a run and a RBI. Ciana Smith walked and scored a run.

Baty earned the win after tossing an inning. She gave up an earned run on a pair of hits with no walks and three strikeouts. Allen, Patterson and Nelson also pitched for the Lady Tigers. Patterson recorded three strikeouts.

Cedar Bluff hosts Hokes Bluff on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
