22 Pounds of Meth Seized in a raid on Camper in Etowah County – Woman Being Held on Bond of $2 Million Dollars
According to Sheriff Jonathon Horton, a drug raid on a camper in east Alabama led to one of the largest drug seizures in Etowah County on March 9th.
On that day the Etowah County Drug Enforcement Team carried out a search warrant on a camper in the west side of the county, just outside of Attalla; Investigators found more than 22 pounds of methamphetamine, as well as Hydrocodone pills, Oxycodone pills, Diazepam pills, marijuana and heroin.
They also confiscated $20,645 in cash and one handgun.
Lindsey Michelle Hampton, 39 of Hokes Bluff – has been charged with two counts of Trafficking Methamphetamine, a count of Trafficking Opium/Hydrocodone, a count of Trafficking Opium/Oxycodone and one count of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana.
Horton stated that Hampton was staying in the camper. That raid followed a lengthy investigation after other agents had been receiving information that Hampton was trafficking large quantities of meth from a Hokes Bluff residence.
The Etowah County Drug Enforcement Unit, Etowah County Sheriff’s Office, Gadsden Police Department, the FBI North Alabama Criminal Enterprise Task Force – and FBI Safe Streets Task Force investigated the case,
Hampton is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center – on bonds totaling more than $2 million.
