Cherokee County Coroner Paul McDonald Confirms Thursday Traffic Fatality

A two vehicle collision occurred shortly after 2:30pm Thursday on Alabama Highway 278 near the Georgia State line.

One driver, a 25 year old female resident of Cedartown, was pronounced dead at the scene. The family was notified by the Cherokee County Coroner.

Alabama State Troopers are investigating the collision. Spring Garden Fire units and the Piedmont Rescue also responded; the Coroner’s Office appreciates the assistance provided by the Spring Garden firefighters and Alabama troopers.
