Sand Rock girls fall to Plainview at JSU

JACKSONVILLE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats and Plainview Lady Bears played a rare regular-season high school basketball game at Jacksonville State University’s Pete Mathews Coliseum on Tuesday.

Despite a 23-point performance from Katelyn StClair, the Lady Wildcats fell by the final of 73-46.

StClair was 8-of-9 from the free-throw line for the Lady Wildcats (13-12). She also collected five rebounds, two steals and an assist.

Zoey Handy contributed eight points, nine rebounds, three steals and an assist. Jacey Stephens finished with six points on a pair of 3-pointers and three rebounds.

Sand Rock travels to Piedmont on Thursday.
