The Family Care Center is a nonprofit 501c3 organization with the purpose of feeding and clothing those in need in Cherokee County, Alabama. Family Care Center started in 2008 feeding just 35 families per week, it has now grown into a large operation assisting over 500 families each month. In 2010 a thrift store was located inside the food bank facility. This not only helps clients purchase items they want or need at a cheaper price, it’s benefited the community as well. Proceeds from the thrift store keep the food bank operational. In the past two years, The Family Care Center has been blessed enough to purchase two vehicles and build and reconstruct homes in the community.
