GAYLESVILLE – Colton Wills tossed in 19 points, including a pair of 3-pointers, in leading the Collinsville Panthers to a 56-38 victory over Ider in the Gaylesville Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.
Dawson Cothran contributed 14 points for the Panthers, including a pair of treys. Gavin Lang, Fernando Padilla and Mason McAteer each scored six points. Lang and Padilla’s points came on a pair of treys.
Griffin Weldon led the Hornets with 13 points. Zion Finnerty added seven points. Jordan Brody and Eli Palmer finished with six and five points respectively.
Behind six 3-pointers (two each from Wills, Lang and Padilla), the Panthers jumped out to a 31-13 advantage. Collinsville led 37-22 at halftime and 47-32 at the end of three quarters.
The Panthers play in the winners bracket on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Girls
Collinsville 58, Pleasant Valley 33
GAYLESVILLE – Tyla Tatum tallied a game-high 21 points, including four 3-pointers, in leading the Collinsville Lady Panthers to a 58-33 victory over Pleasant Valley in the Gaylesville Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.
Gracie Griggs added 12 points for the Lady Panthers. Sophie Wills contributed eight points. Rylee Tillery and Nayeli Mata finished with six and five points respectively. Tillery’s points came on a pair of 3-pointers.
Macey Roper topped Pleasant Valley with 19 points. Kianna Hester finished with six points on a pair of treys.
Collinsville built a 15-9 advantage at the end of the first quarter and led 25-12 at halftime. The Lady Panthers held a 41-22 edge after three quarters. They’ll take on Gaylesville on Thursday at 4 p.m.
